Disclaimer: I may contradict myself along the way so bare with me lol. With that said, this is my experience. Some may only know me as E23, while others know me as E21 as well. I have been on this site for about 2 1/2 years or so and have just about seen it all. Originally, I came here to escape reality and forget "the real world" for a while. However, as time went on, this has become my world. There have been moments of pure happiness, laughter, and excitement. Then there are the moments of guilt, sadness and regret. Just because this is a chat room doesn't mean people don't have real feelings and emotions in here. We all come in here to have fun and relax, yet, there are a select few who come in and ruin it for everyone. I will be the first to admit that I have been one of those people who have taken the fun out of the chatroom(s). I'm sure we all have at one time or another. No one is perfect and no one should be expected to be. For those who have really taken the time to get to know me, they know that I was born with what is known as Spina Bifida. It is a disability, NOT A DISEASE, that effects the nerves in the spine. I know about diversity. I have battled it all my life and will continue to do so forever. The point is, we are all different and should learn to accept each other for WHO we are and NOT WHAT we are. As I mentioned before, I have been here for a few years and have become close to many chatters and have also made some enemies along the way. It comes with the territory. It is each moment that we must hold onto and learn from them. Yes, there are moments that I would like to forget but can't. They have made me a stronger and, hopefully, a better person because of them. Some people see this as a place to come once and then leave, while others, like me, have made this a second home. I see this a family, dysfunctional at times...yes, nonetheless, a family. We can rely on each other to laugh, turn to and cry, let out our emotions and aggressions, and just pass the time with. We just have to remember to relax and take things in stride. If you are experiencing problems with other chatters, don't be afraid to let people know, unless you do it in an unruly way. Talk to them or someone else about it and see if you can work it out. TRUST ME...I've been down that road MANY times. You may think you've lost all connection with that person but give it time. Take a deep breath and come back to talk to them. Things will work out in the end... To be continued? TBD
